How this list was made

We collected 100 currency and money apps from Google Play on 3 October 2026 and kept the 40 whose listing title says currency, converter, exchange or rate, so money-transfer and trading apps are out. For each one we recorded the install count shown by Google Play and whether the listing carries the “Contains ads” label. 22 carry the label, 18 do not. This is a check of Play listings on that date, not an audit of what the apps do on the phone, and a listing without the label is not a guarantee of no ads.

The publisher of this survey also makes Exchy, which is in closed testing on Google Play and not in the table. Full table with package ids and listing links below, also as CSV. Corrections: peter@value.productions.
