Exchy: Privacy Policy

Exchy is a currency converter for Android made by Value Productions. It has no accounts, no sign in, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking SDKs. We do not collect, sell or share personal data.

What stays on your phone

Your currency list, amounts, rate alerts, widgets and settings are stored only on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes them.

Exchange rates

To show rates, the app sends plain requests to public rate providers. These requests contain no personal data and no identifier. Like any internet request, they reveal your IP address to the provider.

The providers are: Frankfurter (api.frankfurter.dev), ExchangeRate API (open.er-api.com), Binance (data-api.binance.vision), Coinbase (api.coinbase.com), Wise (api.wise.com), jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net), DolarApi (dolarapi.com), and, when you pick a local source for a country, that country's central bank or a public local source, for example the National Bank of Ukraine, Monobank, PrivatBank, the National Bank of Poland, the Central Bank of Turkey, the Central Bank of Brazil or SuperRich Thailand.

Your country

The app reads the country of your SIM card and of the mobile network to suggest the local currency and local ATM fees. This happens on the phone. The country is not sent to us. Exchy never asks for your location.

Camera

The price scanner uses the camera only after you open it and allow access. Text is recognized on your device with Google ML Kit. Photos and frames are not saved and not sent to us. ML Kit is a Google library and may send Google technical data about its own performance, as described in Google's ML Kit terms.

Clipboard

If you copy a price in another app, Exchy can offer to convert it when you return. The app reads the clipboard only while it is open on screen, and the text is not stored or sent anywhere.

Notifications

Rate alerts and morning rates are created on your phone. We do not run a push server and do not know which alerts you set.

Maps

"Exchange booths nearby" and "ATMs nearby" open the maps app you already have with a search. Exchy does not receive your location or the results.

Invite friends

This part is optional and applies only if you use "Free Pro" or install Exchy through a friend's link. In that case the app sends to our server, hosted on Cloudflare: a random ID created by the app, a one way hash of the device's app specific Android ID, the invite code and the time. We use it only to count invited friends, unlock Pro and stop one phone from being counted twice. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number or Google account. Cloudflare may see your IP address, we use it only to limit abuse and keep it no longer than 2 days. To delete this data, write to the contact below with your invite code.

Purchases

Pro is bought through Google Play. Google processes the payment. We never see your card or billing details.

This website

The site is hosted on Vercel, which sees your IP address like any web host. The country guides load today's rates from open.er-api.com and fonts from Google Fonts in your browser. The site has no cookies of its own, no analytics and no ads.

Children

Exchy is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date.
